Abstract
In order to resolve the adverse visual effects brought by the lost packets over lossy wireless network, this paper mainly proposes a transmission mechanism for textured progressive model based on predictive reconstruction method.Firstly, an improved hybrid transmission technique for message packets is presented to send model information rapidly and robustly after packetization of model.Typical, the base model and all the connectivity information of the model will be transmitted by reliable protocol and the rest will be sent by unreliable protocol.Then, predictive reconstruction method is developed to help a 3D model render in a desired visual quality even if some model information is lost.In particular, the method consists of rapid prediction and progressive refinement, which can quickly reconstruct the geometry, color, normal and texture coordinate information for the lost vertices of model.Experimental results show that the proposed transmission enables the clients achieve good model visual quality with less transmission time.
