RESEARCH ON DEVELOPING FEATURE MODELING SYSTEM BASED ON Ⅰ-DEAS

This paper presents the approach for developing a feature modeling system based on I—DEAS V. The user interface is explained in greater detail. The feature recognition and the information matching are presented with an example. The part information model based on features is built. Developing feature modeling system based on a commerical solid modeling system can make full use of its solid modeling capabilities,speed up the new system developing and reduce the cost.
