Eye Gaze Correction Method Based on Virtual View Adaptation

  • In order to solve the lack of eye-contact in remote video interaction, a new eye gaze correction method based on the virtual view under the pervasive environment has been developed. The method introduces a virtual coordination which is adaptive to different people's positions and a geometrical model involving the virtual coordination. It can adjust the eye gaze and the head posture through re-projecting three-dimensional cloud points onto a two-dimensional imaging plane.Meanwhile, under this geometrical model, it can do self-calibration for devices avoiding manual calibration of the virtual camera model's external parameters.Experimental results show the method enables self-calibration for devices, and the image after processing achieves the effect of eye contact.
