Exploration on Web-Based 3D Collaborative Design for Virtual Enterprise

Concurrent sharing of 3D product model is the key factor for the successful cooperation inside a multi-functional design team composed of engineers from different fields．A software framework supported by web technology and popular 3D design tool——Pro/Engineer is implemented to facilitate the designers （including customers）to collaborate at different places while at the same time．The design process is tentatively broken down into subtasks，and the system is verified via LAN．Some insight into the software development is concluded．
