Computer Numerical Simulation for the Analysis of Automotive External Flow Field

Shape of an automotive determines its aerodynamic performance and affects its economy characteristics and steering stability. In this paper, the procedure and method of Numerical Simulation of Automotive External Flow Field are discussed and the aerodynamic models of two cars were set up. Various parameters of the External Flow Field are gained by simulation. The computational results agree well with experimental measurements. Their aerodynamic characteristics were analyzed and good results were acquired.
