GPU-Accelerated Object-Space Line Drawing Algorithm

  • We present a GPU-accelerated, object-space line drawing algorithm for triangle meshes.We first describe a general algorithm framework for rendering arbitrary object-space feature lines in GPU.Based on the framework, we propose the specific algorithms for rendering silhouettes and Photic Extremum Lines (PELs) with GPU acceleration.Experimental results show that the images generated with the proposed GPU algorithm are indistinguishable with those generated with traditional CPU algorithms, while the rendering speed is at least one-order magnitude of faster.
