Mating Dimension Inheritance and Testing Based on Assembly Drawing Information

  • The way of dimensioning and its subsequent processing affects directly the cost and quality of a product. Based on analyzing the constraints and relations of assembly dimensions, this paper puts forward a native method for inheriting and testing part dimensions from the assembly model. Furthermore, the correlation of matching dimensions among different parts is set up through recognizing and self\organizing their mating schemes in assembly drawing. As a result, the approach proposed in this paper can not only test the rationality of matching dimensions annotated on assembly drawing and part drawings, but also accomplish the dimension inheritance and testing among different dimensioning schemes through transmitting mating constraints and dimensioning bases from the assembly drawing.
