3D Shape Simulation of Eye Wrinkles Using Implicit Surface Fitting

  • Realistic wrinkles are the key problem for 3D expression. Based on implicit surface fitting, this paper proposed a novel approach for generating realistic wrinkles around eyes. First, the 3D scan data around eyes are preprocessed to generate structure model for extraction wrinkles shape features, and smoothing model for 3D wrinkles to embed in. Second, curvature tensor and curvature derivative are computed by implicit surface fitting, and the feature lines of wrinkles are connected by feature points; third, the 3D equidistant space of wrinkles features lines is constructed, and the 3D mesh of wrinkles is embed into smoothing model within the region, and the smoothing model outside is simplified. Experiment results show that, compared with similar works, our method is better in high reality, localization robustness and computational efficiency.
