Product Environmental Value Analysis and Application

Environmental value analysis is realized through integrating life cycle assessment （LCA） into design process to make the product environmentally benign.The concept,objective,and application of environmental value analysis in the design process are discussed.At first,the product structure system is transformed into function system through function-structure mapping.Then the lifecycle environmental impact is evaluated based on the function system and the environmental value is assessed and computed. Finally, through function analysis and its improvement,the product function system is transformed back into the renewed structure system.Case study of desk lamp illustrates the applicability of environmental value analysis.
