A Fast Volume Rendering Method for 3D Seismic Volume Data

  • This paper presents a novel fast volume rendering method—ISO-value Voxel Projection(IVP) method, specially applied for the interpretation of seismic volume data. The method can be implemented on common PCs, and is less dependent on graphics hardware. The rendering of the method allows basically interactive effect, with its time spending down to 1?16~1?8 of ray-casting calculation. However, the quality of the images produced is not very good, but good enough for the analysis and visualization to the seismic data.
