A HEAT DISTRIBUTION SIMULATOR FOR BIPOLAR IC CHIP

  • Abstract This paper presents a heat distribution simulator for bipolar IC chips. By extracting the chip's electrical and geometrical information, the simulator checks its electrical performance by electrical simulation to get the electric current and voltage of every heat-emitted devices, then uses the heat-conducting theory to analyze the chip's temperature distribution and displays the temperature fields by geaphics. This simulator is designed for the designing staff of bipolar chips to improve the reliability of the IC products.
