Fuzzy Integral Based Objective Assessment of Coding Quality of Color Image

  • In order to assess the coding qualities of color image objectively, based on the YUV color model and the image three-component model, a new objective assessment approach of coding qualities of color images is proposed. Fuzzy measure and fuzzy integral are the main mathematical tools employed in the approach. Experiments show that the correlation coefficient between the proposed approach and the human subjective assessment mean opinion score (MOS) is 0.92, much higher than 0.69, the correlation coefficient of conventional PSNR with MOS.
