A Survey of Visualization Methods for Urban Spatial Hot Spots Analysis

  • With the development and popularization of positioning technology and communication technology, data with spatio-temporal properties is exploding. These spatio-temporal data contain rich hot information.Using visualization method to analyze urban hot spots has prominent advantages, which is of great significance to optimize the allocation of resources and guide urban construction. In this paper, the research about urban spatial hot spot analysis method in recent years is reviewed, and we summarize the visualization frameworks of hot spot analysis for different spatio-temporal data. Then, according to the characteristics of the data, these methods are classified based on statistical information or semantic information, and we describe the research status, advantages and disadvantages of various methods in detail,in order to select appropriate visualization methods for different data categories and derived features, better coordinate multiple data attributes and their display results, and reduce information clutter and visual occlusion. Finally, this article points out the challenges and further explorations of visualization methods for urban spatial hot spots analysis.
