Abstract
Aiming at the limited input capability of traditional pen,pen azimuth was introduced and its performance and hybrid use with pen tilt were investigated.First,two experiments of pen azimuth target selection and pen azimuth+pen tilt target selection were designed.Then experiments were carried out to investigate the performance of pen azimuth and the hybrid input with pen tilt.The experimental results showed that pen azimuth input in axial directions was better than in oblique directions.6,4 and 1 speed-consistent-intervals were formed under 30,60 and 90 degrees pen azimuth tolerances,respectively.The narrower the interval,the more difficult it was for users to perform the target selection tasks.When the pen azimuth tolerance was 60 degrees and the pen tilt tolerance was 20 degrees,the optimum discretization was gotten.Finally,the suggestions and application scenarios of the hybrid use of pen azimuth and pen tilt were given.The conclusions provide a reference for pen interaction design based on azimuth and tilt.
