Creation of Product State Model Using Shared Ontology for Collaborative Knowledge Management

Product state model (PSM) as the general knowledge representation model of collaborative knowledge management, describes the key characteristics and coupling relationship among product, process and resource. This paper focuses on how to analyze PSM based on shared ontology through using extended quality function deployment method, and create representation of PSM based on shared concept model, domain characteristics dictionary and XML syntactic model, which provide a meaningful theoretical and practical way to develop product knowledge representation protocol for discrete manufacturing industries.
