Application of Wavelet Base V9/7 with Human Visual Characteristics in Image Compression

Abstract

The lifting scheme of wavelet transform is described in detail and applied to JPEG2000. Experiments show PSNR of the compressed image can be improved by0.1～0.3dB and over0.8dB respectively in comparison with Daubechies9／7and reversible wavelet base5／3under the same compression rate in the JPEG2000basic system.
