Application of Wavelet Base V9/7 with Human Visual Characteristics in Image Compression

  • The lifting scheme of wavelet transform is described in detail and applied to JPEG2000. Experiments show PSNR of the compressed image can be improved by0.1~0.3dB and over0.8dB respectively in comparison with Daubechies9/7and reversible wavelet base5/3under the same compression rate in the JPEG2000basic system.
