Optimization of Object Fracture Detail Rendering Algorithm based on Material Point Method

  • Aiming at the unreal fracture details caused by uneven sampling in object fracture simulation, a method to optimize the fracture surface details based on material point method is proposed. Firstly, the material point method is used to deal with the large topological changes in the fracture process, so as to enhance the efficiency of collision and fracture treatment and reduce the amount of calculation; Then, the flow rule between elasticity and plasticity is introduced to solve the problem of unstable yield condition during object fracture and enhance the authenticity; Finally, the resampling method is used to deal with the cavity area and improve the meshing method, so as to increase the details of the fracture surface and effectively reflect the fracture effect. The experimental results show that compared with the existing material point method, the optimized object fracture method fills the fracture cavity and can visually show more abundant fracture surface details on the premise of ensuring the stability of relevant parameters such as frame rate and time step.
