基于偏微分方程的快速二维经验模态分解方法及其应用

A Fast Bidimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition Based on Partial Differential Equation and Its Application on Image Processing

  • 摘要: 针对现有的二维经验模态分解(BEMD)方法存在边界效应、分解速度慢等缺点,提出一种基于偏微分方程(PDE)的快速二维经验模态分解方法——PDE-BEMD.首先构造极值点所在二维包络曲面所满足的四阶偏微分方程,通过差分迭代方法快速求解偏微分方程,得到图像的上下包络曲面;然后对图像进行筛分,得到固有模态函数图像(IMFs),实现图像的模态分解.将分解得到的图像应用于边缘检测和人脸识别预处理算法中的实验结果表明,PDE-BEMD方法不仅可有效地降低时间和空间的复杂度、提高运算速度,而且避免了BEMD的边界效应,分解出具有清晰边缘信息的IMFs,且剩余图像不会被模糊,具有良好的边缘提取与去噪效果.

     

    Abstract: Based on partial differential equation(PDE),a fast bidimensional empirical mode decomposition algorithm(BEMD) is proposed to solve problems of the boundary effect and the low decomposition speed in the current BEMD algorithms.Firstly,a fourth order PDE is constructed for the envelope which is constrained by the extreme points,then the PDE is calculated iteratively by the difference to obtain the image's up and low envelopes.After the image shifted,the intrinsic mode functions(IMFs) can be achieved,and then the mode decomposition is realized.The residual image after decomposing is also applied to the margin detection and the preprocessing of face recognition in this paper.The experimental results show that the fast PDE-BEMD algorithm can not only effectively reduce the time and the space complexity but also avoid the boundary effect.It can obtain the intrinsic mode functions(IMFs) with the distinct margin information and at the same time,the residual image is not blurred.The algorithm has good performances in the margin detection and the image denoising.
