Function-Based 3D Model Retrieval System

  • 摘要: 基于内容的三维模型检索的检索结果强调模型几何形状相似而非功能的相似,不能满足概念创新设计对产品用途、功能特征、设计原理等功能语义知识的需求,为此提出了基于功能语义的三维模型检索方法.首先引入本体的概念,并构建了三维模型的功能语义本体,以此为标准指导模型功能的规范化标注,根据三维模型的功能语义本体进行基于功能语义的三维模型检索;针对单一的检索条件可能无法很好地描述目标模型全部功能的问题,给出了支持多个功能同时检索的算法,用于计算模型间的功能语义相似度并进行排序.实例结果表明,采用文中方法得到的检索结果可以满足概念设计的要求,有助于设计重用和创新设计.

     

    Abstract: Semantic knowledge of a product such as product usage, functional characteristics and design principles is essential during its conceptual design stage to guide the design process.However, content-based 3D model retrieval focuses on products'geometric similarity rather than their functional similarity.To solve this problem, a function-based 3D model retrieval method is proposed.First, a functional semantic ontology of 3D models is built, by which the 3D model retrieval based on functional semantics can be carried out.The functional semantic ontology is then used as an instruction to guide the standardized labeling of the function of the 3D model.Moreover, in case one function may be not a comprehensive description of the target model, a retrieval algorithm supporting multiple function retrieval at the same time is also proposed, which is used to calculate function semantic similarities between models and then sorts them.Finally, an example is taken to illustrate that the search result can satisfy the requirements of conceptual design and contribute to design reuse and innovative design.
