Abstract:
Different from the existing idea that starts from CAD model to construct parametric model, this article starts from the two-dimensional four-sided finite element model to reconstruct the corresponding parametric model to adapt for Isogeometric Analysis(IGA). Firstly, the finite element model of quadrilateral meshes is generated by the existing CAE software. Then, the topology information between quadrilateral meshes is extracted through preprocessing. And according to some rules, several zero genus quadrilateral subdomains are generated through a series of operations done on subdomains including normal merging, adaptive merging and boundary creating. Finally, the parameterization of the subdomains is realized by using boundary interpolation algorithm and optimization algorithm for inner control points. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in this paper is verified by a few examples. Our method provides the technical support for the conversion of the finite element mesh and the parametric model for IGA, thus providing a convenient way to realize the volume parameterization and IGA of the massive CAE model.
