A Stereo Camera Tracking Algorithm Used in Glass-free Stereoscopic Display System

  • 摘要: 为了解决观看立体显示内容需要佩戴眼镜等问题,提出一种使用双目视觉和标志点的跟踪算法,并应用于裸眼立体显示系统.该算法使用2个带有只允许红外光透过的滤光片的摄像头对佩戴有红外标志点的用户进行实时光斑提取,筛选出符合标志点的光斑图像并进行实时双目三维重建;重建结果经坐标系转换后被用于显示系统的动态排图算法;最后使用液晶透镜光栅分光技术将立体内容投影到人的双眼.实验结果表明,与传统裸眼立体显示技术中使用的人脸跟踪算法相比,文中算法的重建结果更加精确和稳定,更加适用于对跟踪精度和稳定性要求较高的领域,如医学内窥镜手术等.

     

    Abstract: A visual tracking method using stereo camera and markers is presented in this paper, to improve the accuracy and stability in a tracking-based glass-free 3D display system. First, two cameras with infrared pass-only filters are used to capture images of users wearing infrared markers in real time; then speckles corresponding to infrared markers are detected and reconstructed using calibrated parameters of the stereo camera; the reconstructed results are next passed to a tracking-based 3D display system for dynamic image mapping, and finally 3D images are projected to user's eyes via LC lens gratings. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more accurate and stable than monocular face tracking method used in traditional tracking-based 3D display systems, which makes it more suitable to areas like medical endoscopy operations where accuracy and stability are critical.
