利用嫦娥三号全景相机数据构建沉浸式虚拟月表环境系统

Designed and Implementation of Immersive Virtual Environment of the Moon Based on Chang’E-3 Data of Panoramic Camera

  • 摘要: 为辅助月球科学家在嫦娥三号巡视探测任务中全面了解巡视器周围的探测环境,利用嫦娥三号巡视器全景相机获取的双目立体图像以及天文星表数据,基于四通道立体投影设备,构建了沉浸式虚拟月表环境系统.介绍了所实现的虚拟月表环境系统的系统功能、系统结构及构建流程,并对虚拟月表环境系统的真实性建模、重投影算法、"沉浸式"实现等关键技术进行了详细的介绍.实际应用表明,该系统不但出色地在嫦娥三号任务中完成任务,而且还在后续科普活动中发挥了重要作用.

     

    Abstract: To assist lunar scientists in understanding the surrounding environment of the Chang’E-3 rover, we developed an immersive virtual environment of the Moon using data collected by Chang’E-3 panoramic camera and star catalogue, based on a quad projective stereo system. This paper introduces the design and implementation of functions, structure and building process of the moon’s immersive virtual environment system. Related key technologies are described in detail, such as the modeling authenticity, reprojection algorithm and immersive technology. This system not only has contributed heavily to the success of the Chang’E-3 mission, but also plays an import role in science outreach to the general public after the Chang’E-3 mission.
