Transfer Function Design Using Shape Features in Medical Visualization

  • 摘要: 传递函数设计是医学可视化中一种困难却行之有效的方法.传递函数能高亮显示人体内的重要部位,为医生诊断疾病带来便捷.通过对目前传递函数设计方法中研究较少的形状特征进行研究,提出了基于形状特征的传递函数,利用三维不变矩、分形特征、线状特征等多种形状特征突出显示用户感兴趣的具有相同形状的结构.最后用一些医学数据集进行测试,证明了文中方法的高效性和便捷性.

     

    Abstract: In medical visualization,transfer function design is an efficient means to emphasize the interested tissues and organs while suppressing other regions.It is challenging,however,to get an appropriate transfer function for characterizing arbitrary shapes.This paper introduces a shape-based transfer function design scheme that highlights similarly shaped structures using pre-determined shape features such as 3D moment invariants,fractal features and linear features.We verified our approach on several medical datasets to show its efficiency and convenience.
