An Improved Method of Soft Tissue Modeling Based on Delaunay Tetrahedralization

  • 摘要: 几何建模是虚拟手术仿真的重要部分,如何构建高精度的软组织模型和提高建模速度是目前该领域的研究重点.根据断层医学图像理论,提出一种高效和高质量的Delaunay四面体软组织建模方法——限定性Delaunay逐点递增插入法.首先在传统的Delaunay逐点递增算法上增加了有利于边界恢复的限定性条件,以减少Delaunay四面体建模过程中丢失边界的数量,较好地保证了模型的完整性;其次针对建模过程中丢失边界的问题,将局部变换法和边界恢复法相结合,在优化四面体模型的同时恢复丢失边界.算法分析和实验结果表明,该方法不仅提高了四面体建模的计算速度,还保证了模型的收敛性和完整性.

     

    Abstract: How to construct the soft tissue model with high precision and prompt speed is one of the key issues in virtual surgery.A new method of soft tissue modeling,namely the restricted Delaunay incremental insertion algorithm(RDIIA),based on high quality Delaunay tetrahedralization is proposed.This method put forth a constraining condition that greatly reduces the number of missing boundaries which frequently occur in conventional incremental insertion algorithm.It further recovers the missing boundary during the shape optimization of the newly generated Delaunay tetrahedral model of the soft tissue by local reformation.Experimental results and algorithm analysis show that RDIIA can not only improve the computational performance,but also ensure the computing convergence and model integrity.
