Perspective-Distorted Shadow Maps

  • 摘要: 文中提出一种高质量硬阴影生成算法——透视-曲变阴影图(P-DSMs)算法,其使用曲变阴影图(DSMs)算法和LiSPSMs算法进行相互改进,结合了DSMs和LiSPSMs 2种算法的优点.首先使用DSMs对LiSPSMs的阴影生成结果进行了优化,降低了阴影生成时对近切面参数的依赖性;然后利用LiSPSMs弥补DSMs自身对视点无关方面的缺陷,即当视点靠近阴影时DSMs阴影质量不够理想.文中方法利用采样重分布思想去除阴影边缘走样,对视点信息的变化具有良好的适应性.实验结果表明,P-DSMs算法能结合视点信息动态地优化阴影生成质量,即使在视点十分靠近阴影时也能渲染出高质量的阴影.

     

    Abstract: This paper proposes a new high-quality hard shadow generation algorithm-perspective-distorted shadow maps (P-DSMs).It combines the advantages of both DSMs and LiSPSMs and complements the disadvantages with each other.The algorithm utilizes DSMs to optimize the shadows generated by LiSPSMs and reduces its dependency on the position of near clip plane, while LiSPSMs is employed to improve the shadow quality of DSMs when the view point is very close to the shadows.P-DSMs reduces the aliasing on shadow edges by redistributing the depth samples in shadow maps and adapts to the dynamic view quite well.Experimental results show that the P-DSMs can generate high quality hard shadows under dynamic view points, even the view point is very close to the shadows.
