Effect of Color Grouping on Icon Visual Search Efficiency

  • 摘要: 为了提高人机界面的交互效率,通过一组图标搜索实验,采用被试内和被试间混合设计的方法,考察颜色、分组方式以及面板方向对视觉搜索效率的影响.实验主要包括反应时间和正确率,并对二者进行描述性统计分析和方差分析,实验结果表明,利用颜色进行分组面板的视觉搜索效率显著高于单色面板,较大分组方式之间的视觉搜索效率差异不大,但显著高于颜色交替分组方式下的视觉搜索效率;水平方向比垂直方向的视觉搜索效率更高,与水平方向相比,垂直方向下颜色交替出现分组方式的视觉搜索效率更低.

     

    Abstract: In order to improve the interaction efficiency of human-computer interface, a set of icon search experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of color, grouping method and panel orientation on visual search efficiency by using the method of within-subject and between-subject mixed design. The experimental results mainly include reaction time and correct rate, and descriptive statistical analysis and variance analysis are for both of them. The results show that the visual search efficiency of color-grouped panels is significantly higher than that of single-color panels. The visual search efficiency of larger grouping methods is not much different, but significantly higher than the visual search efficiency of color-alternating grouping. The visual search efficiency in the horizontal direction is higher than that in the vertical direction. More efficient, compared to the horizontal direction, the visual search efficiency of the grouping method of alternating colors in the vertical direction is lower.
