Abstract:
Mobile device has become more and more popular because it provides an easier way to gain access to internet. However, its application is significantly limited by the storage capacity, processing power, screen resolution and battery life. In computer graphics area, this presents a new challenge for research on remote rendering technique. In this paper, we present an overview of classic remote rendering techniques on mobile devices. Firstly, we analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the techniques. We also compare the performance of their state-of-art implementation. Finally, we provide some insight into the future development of remote rendering.
