计算机辅助美术动画的新方法综述

Novel Approaches of Computer Assisted Cartoon Animation: A Review

  • 摘要: 随着数字媒体处理、非真实感绘制和交互式娱乐等技术的兴起,出现了一些新的计算机辅助美术动画设计和制作方法从研究方法和技术路线上,可将当前的研究工作总结和归纳为4类:基于视频流的方法、结合二维半/三维几何模型的方法、基于素材重用的方法和借鉴三维动画技术的方法在此基础上,对各类方法的基本思想和关键技术等进行了分析,并探讨了如何进一步超越二维世界,如结合三维几何、运动的时序变化、情感等来研究计算机辅助美术动画技术的趋势.

     

    Abstract: With the advent of digital media processing, non-photorealistic rendering and interactive entertainment techniques, novel approaches are proposed to assist 2D cartoon animation. From the point of view of research methodology, a survey is made in this paper on these computer aided techniques for cartoon production, and the relevant work is summarized into four major types: video-based approach, 2.5D/3D geometry guided, reusing the available art-work and extensions of 3D animation pipelines. The fundamental ideas and key techniques in those aspects are analyzed in detail. We also discussed the future work, and concluded that it might bring a breakthrough for computer assisted 2D cartoon animation if the beyond-2D information, such as 3D geometry, temporal relations, emotions, etc., can be combined with the computer assisted pipeline of 2D cartoon production.
