Abstract: Interactive three dimensional video system （I-3DVS） has attracted considerable attention recently due to its increasingly wide range of application．It raises many interesting and challenging research topics,such as multi-view video coding,virtual view synthesis,and so on．From the system implementation perspective, this paper presents a survey on the recent progress of I-3DVS． Multi-view video coding and virtual view synthesis are two critical sub-fields in I-3DVS,and this survey also discusses their key techniques and challenging problems．Finally,this survey provides several technical and theoretical suggestions on the future development of I-3DVS．
