基于内容优化动态自适应HTTP流传输主观质量

Content-Based Optimization for Subjective Quality of Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP

  • 摘要: 针对传统DASH流技术仅仅自适应码率变化而不能整体优化回放质量,尤其是主观质量的问题,提出了基于内容的DASH流传输策略.该策略以镜头为自适应单元,基于运动级别设置安全因子和分配网络资源,使用动态规划算法决策并下载整体主观质量最大化的DASH片段序列.实验结果表明,运动级别较高的视频内容因获得较多传输资源而保证了较高的主观质量,平均最低质量也得到较大提升,且码率切换频率低,无播放停顿发生.

     

    Abstract: Focusing on the problem that traditional dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP (DASH) only works on rate adaptation but performs nothing on optimizing consistent play-back quality and especially nothing on subjective quality, a content-based DASH adaptation decision is proposed.In the process of the decision taking, shots are regarded as adaptation units to be assigned safe factor and allocated network resource judged by its motion rank, and then a dynamic programming algorithm is employed to find the subjective quality maximized solution on how to download the next segments.The experimental results confirm that higher motion content achieve better quality because the radical need on network resource is satisfied, and that the lowest quality among all segments is increased, number of bit-rate switching results less, as well as no stall occurs.
