Abstract:
Laser QR code on metal parts is usually excessively etched, worn down or corroded, which leads to the difficulty of locating the code by using most current methods. To solve the problem, a location method of laser QR code based on position discrimination was proposed. Firstly, bilateral filtering was employed to filter the noise within the QR code image and the QR code area was roughly located through combining mathematical morphology algorithm and maximum connected region method. Secondly, the skeleton of the QR code was extracted by using skeleton algorithm, and then the QR code was exactly located by facilitating minimum enclosing rectangle method and algorithm of position discrimination for detection pattern of QR code position. Finally, the proposed method is verified to be more reliable for locating QR code on metal parts through comparing with traditional methods.
