Abstract: Chinese seals are an indispensable part of calligraphy and painting works, embodying profound cultural background and historical significance. Studying Chinese seals can provide insights into the historical transmission and preservation of calligraphy and painting works. Comparing the forms of Chinese seals can also assist experts in identifying their authenticity. In order to support the research, this paper designs a Chinese Seal Analysis System called "Identifying and Authenticating Seals". The system supports visual analysis of calligraphy and painting, including their seals. It provides an overview of Chinese seals, displaying the statistical information of the overall seal. It also allows experts to view the matching results of seals, enabling them to understand the transmission and preservation paths of calligraphy and painting works. Experts can perform morphological analysis on Chinese seals and view high-resolution zoomed-in images, compare the reconstructed Chinese seal skeleton to explore the morphology and assist in authentication. By gradually exploring from the overall to the local details, the system achieves the visual analysis of Chinese seals in calligraphy and painting works. Collaboration with experts, as well as example analysis and expert feedback, have demonstrated the effectiveness and practicality of the system in the study of Chinese seals.
