Abstract:
Design for manufacturability and optimization has become an important approach for reducing costs and improving efficiency in modern manufacturing. In recent years, with the rapid development of additive manufacturing and artificial intelligence technologies, it has emerged as a research hotspot, driving a new wave of manufacturing revolution. In this context, this paper reviews recent design and optimization efforts from different perspectives of manufacturability, focusing on five key areas of research progress: (1) lightweight and support-related structural design, as well as optimization of printing paths and slicing; (2) function-oriented design and optimization for manufacturability; (3) process optimization in subtractive and hybrid manufacturing; (4) applications of artificial intelligence in design optimization. Finally, the paper discusses unresolved challenges in current research and potential future trends, including intelligent and generative approaches, providing reference and guidance for design for manufacturability and optimization.
